STAMMEL ENDORSED BY SUSTAINABLE OTSEGO

Sustainable Otsego endorsed Andrew Stammel for the 2015 District 4 elextiom, recognizing Stammel's effort to successfully ban fracking and the disposal of fracking waste in the Town of Oneonta. Stammel And Board Pass Law Protecting All Municipal Drinking Water

October 14, 2015:  At tonight's Town Board meeting Stammel joined the rest of the Board in unanimously passing the first ever law to protect all Town municipal drinking water. These common sense protections were blocked by the previous Town Board, including Rep. Quackenbush. The law will prevent contamination of Wilbur Lake, the Lower Reservoir, and two municipal wells, serving thousands of town and city residents and businesses. The law was endorsed by a majority of Town residents and the comprehensive plan. A strong majority of residents in attendence at tonight's meeting endorsed passage of the law.

County Board Next Target for Abbate and His Merry Dems- Hometown Oneonta

Stammel considers running for County Board in a race that would be crucial to winning control of the Board.

"In an interview, Abbate floated the names of a couple of attractive candidates...and Andrew Stammel, the lawyer and Oneonta Town Board member...the Democratic leader has a strategy that's worked so far: find the best candidates he can and let the campaign ensue...The Republicans have a formidable majority on the County Board right now.  Democrats will need to save Rosenthal's seat, beat Gelbsman and elect Marietta and Stammel to claim it...But it could happen.  And Abbate and his merry Dems are going for it."
